15 4 <br />RESOLUTION NO, 3504- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHOR- <br />IZING THE INCUMBENTS OF CERTAIN POSITIONS TO SIGN CONTRACTS FOR PURCHASE OF <br />BURIAL PLOT . <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />RESOLUTION NO. _3505 <br />City Attorney Hutton suggested several changes in Resolution No. 3505, specifically a "Hold Harmless Clause" on <br />behalf of the City of Colton, which was agreeable with Mr. Joseph Kicak, representing Albert A. Webb Associates <br />of San Bernardino. Mr. Hutton advised this resolution pertains to the Grand Terrace Sewer Project. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, to approve Resolution No. 3505, subject to <br />changes as recommended by the City Attorney. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3505 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING <br />AND GRANTING CONSENT AND APPROVAL TO THE FORMATION OF A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT <br />DISTRICT TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS UNDER THE PROVI- <br />SIONS OF THE "MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1913" . <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve first reading of Ordinance No. 1473. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1473 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE "COLTON MUNI - <br />(First Reading) CIPAL CODE", A CODIFICATION OF THE PERMANENT AND GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, TOGETHER WITH THOSE SECONDARY CODES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE <br />AS AUTHORIZED BY THE GENERAL LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, SAVE AND EXCEPT <br />THOSE PORTIONS OF THE SECONDARY CODES AS ARE DELETED OR MODIFIED BY THE PRO- <br />VISIONS OF THIS CODE. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Signs <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Mr. Bill McGuern, President of the Chamber of Commerce, commented on the "Welcome to Colton" signs that the <br />Chamber of Commerce will install in the City, from the Roadside Rests on South La Cadena along that street to the <br />fountain at the end of North La Cadena Drive. <br />City Manager Huffaker stated this proposal was commendable, however, he did want it understood that the Chamber <br />of Commerce will maintain these signs, and not the City. <br />Mr. McGuern stated the signs will be donated to the City, however, the Chamber will maintain the signs. <br />Parkways <br />Fountain <br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to instruct Staff to look into the appearance <br />of the fountain located at the north La Cadena Drive parkway.
