RAMOS <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 2, 1975 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in <br />the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. <br />Rn1 I rat I <br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City <br />Manager Huffaker, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Miniifac <br />November 18, 1975 <br />IAIArran+C <br />3978 through 4109 <br />23584 through 23876 <br />November 25, 1975 Inclusive <br />Notice of Completion - Approve and authorize recording: <br />John E. Higbee, 3 million gallon reservoir, Schedule IV. <br />Malcolm Boring Company, installation of 28 inch casing under Southern <br />Pacific Railroad at 9th Street. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve the Consent Calendar. Vote was unanimous. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Proclamation Bill of Rights <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation honoring Bill of Rights Week, from December 9 through 15, 1975, and <br />presented it to the City Manager. <br />Planning Commission Appointment <br />Mayor Huntoon stated the Planning Commission appointment will be discussed later in the meeting during Executive <br />Session. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Parks <br />Reverend Father Michael Keane, Immaculate Conception Church <br />City Manager Huffaker stated that Father Michael Keane had requested time on the Agenda to address the Council <br />on a matter concerning our City parks, however Father Keane was unable to attend the meeting this evening, and <br />Staff would recommend this matter be held over until the next regular Council meeting. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Varianr,o <br />Smith's Colton Flower Shop <br />Planning Director Williams stated the Variance application, requested by Floyd and Linda Smith, is to reduce <br />the number of required parking spaces from 25 to 16, in a C2 zone, on property located at 460 and 466 North La <br />Cadena Drive in Colton. <br />Mr. Williams said the Council members have copies of Planning Commission Resolution No. 789, recommending <br />approval of the Variance application, subject to one condition, which Mr. Williams read to the Council. <br />Mayor Huntoon and Councilman Rehrer felt the condition, as stated in Resolution No. 789, was too restrictive <br />for any possible future use or business. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Planning Commission Resolution No. <br />789. Motion carried, Councilman Rehrer voting NO. <br />DEC 21975 <br />
