RAMOS City Clerk City of Colton * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * COUNCIL MEETING December 2, 1975 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. Rn1 I rat I Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City Manager Huffaker, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. CONSENT CALENDAR: Miniifac November 18, 1975 IAIArran+C 3978 through 4109 23584 through 23876 November 25, 1975 Inclusive Notice of Completion - Approve and authorize recording: John E. Higbee, 3 million gallon reservoir, Schedule IV. Malcolm Boring Company, installation of 28 inch casing under Southern Pacific Railroad at 9th Street. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve the Consent Calendar. Vote was unanimous. MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: Proclamation Bill of Rights Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation honoring Bill of Rights Week, from December 9 through 15, 1975, and presented it to the City Manager. Planning Commission Appointment Mayor Huntoon stated the Planning Commission appointment will be discussed later in the meeting during Executive Session. CORRESPONDENCE: Parks Reverend Father Michael Keane, Immaculate Conception Church City Manager Huffaker stated that Father Michael Keane had requested time on the Agenda to address the Council on a matter concerning our City parks, however Father Keane was unable to attend the meeting this evening, and Staff would recommend this matter be held over until the next regular Council meeting. PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Varianr,o Smith's Colton Flower Shop Planning Director Williams stated the Variance application, requested by Floyd and Linda Smith, is to reduce the number of required parking spaces from 25 to 16, in a C2 zone, on property located at 460 and 466 North La Cadena Drive in Colton. Mr. Williams said the Council members have copies of Planning Commission Resolution No. 789, recommending approval of the Variance application, subject to one condition, which Mr. Williams read to the Council. Mayor Huntoon and Councilman Rehrer felt the condition, as stated in Resolution No. 789, was too restrictive for any possible future use or business. Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Planning Commission Resolution No. 789. Motion carried, Councilman Rehrer voting NO. DEC 21975
