RAMOS <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />Approved this day of 1976. <br />Mayor <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 14, 1976 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Beltran presid- <br />ing. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Beltran. Also present were City Manager <br />Huffaker, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />Mayor Beltran stated that the City Council will continue the meeting in the Conference Room. <br />Architectural Presentation <br />Community Development Coordinator Arturo de la Cerda made the opening comments on the proposed projects at Veterans <br />Park and Municipal Park, and introduced Mr. Jess Perez. <br />Mr. Perez, of the architectural firm Perez and Hurtado, thanked the Council Members for the opportunity of making a <br />detailed presentation on the proposed projects. <br />Mr. Perez advised that he will be following the Agenda for Architectural Presentation very closely, which had <br />previously been given to the Council Members, and referring to schematic drawing charts outlining the construction, <br />materials and floor plans, and architectural design for the projects. <br />Mr. Perez stated the most important decision to be made this evening is to establish the maximum budget for these <br />projects, which will be discussed at the close of his presentation. <br />Veterans Park <br />Multi -Service Center <br />Mr. Perez then reviewed schematic drawings showing the concept site plan, concept floor plan, and facade for a <br />Multi -Service Center building to be located in Veterans Park, containing a floor plan of 3,440 square feet, with an <br />exterior of reinforced masonry construction, or concrete block, and laminated wood beam roof. The interior will <br />consist of wood frame with drywall sheathing and exposed wood beam ceilings. <br />The interior area will include an assembly room, medical examining offices, a Director's office, a public reception <br />area, restrooms, and a small preparation/serving kitchen. The floors will be of reinforced concrete slab with a <br />covering of vinyl asbestos tile or carpeting. <br />The building will be of Mediterranean design with an attractive mural, of Spanish -Indian design, on the building <br />entry side, asphalt concrete paving and parking spaces. <br />Mr. Perez stated the estimated cost for the Multi -Service Center building, as outlined, would be $145,376. <br />Municipal Park <br />Community Center and Swimming Pool Complex <br />Mr. Perez then reviewed schematic drawings for a Community Center building, swimming pool and shower/locker room <br />facilities to be located at Municipal Park. <br />Mr. Perez stated the Community Center building would be of a similar floor plan, construction and design to that of <br />the Multi -Service Center building, containing 6,500 square feet of space. <br />There will be approximately 30 parking spaces provided, however, eventually the parking facilities will have to be <br />increased. <br />Mr. Perez continued the existing swimming pool would be removed and a new swimming pool, measuring 80 feet by 75 <br />feet, would be constructed. Also, the existing shower and locker building would be demolished and a new shower and <br />locker room facility constructed, containing approximately 8,000 square feet. <br />Mr. Perez advised that, due to health codes, you cannot have a swimming pool without dressing room and shower <br />facilities. <br />Mr. Perez stated the estimated cost for the Community Center building, new swimming pool and shower/locker room <br />building, plus the demolition of the existing swimming pool and shower/locker room building, would be $555,520, <br />with a total cost for the projects as outlined of $700,896. <br />Mr. Perez stated he would now like to review the Alternates for these projects, as indicated in his report, with <br />the Council Members. <br />Alternate No. 1 <br />Mr. Perez stated that Alternate No. 1 consists of the recommendations as made by the Community Citizens' Advisory <br />Commission as follows: <br />C E C 14 1976 <br />
