Lowering Device for the Cemetery <br />Councilwoman Cisneros requested Council consideration and approval of an increase in the part-time salaries for <br />the City's Crossing Guards, to $2.50 per hour. <br />Mayor Beltran said this, then, would make a total of six items for consideration and approval. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, approving those six items as outlined for purchase <br />along with the Preliminary Budget. Vote was unanimous. <br />Legislation <br />Mrs. Marlene Alexander Wilson, Chairperson of the Colton Utilities Commission, advised that she has been appointed <br />to the Legislative Committee of the California Municipal Utilities Association, and the next meeting is scheduled <br />for Friday, June 24, 1977, in Sacramento. Mrs. Wilson requested Council approval for attendance at the meeting <br />and payment of expenses incurred, which will not exceed $100. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, approving attendance of Chairperson Marlene Alexander <br />Wilson of the Colton Utilities Commission at the meeting of the Legislative Committee of the California Municipal <br />Utilities Association, to be held on Friday, June 24, 1977, and authorizing payment of $55.00 towards expenses. <br />Vote was unanimous. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 9:30 p. m., to discuss Personnel Matters, and reconvened at <br />9:35 p. m., all Members present. <br />Personnel <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, appointing Mr. Thomas J. Calabrese as City Manager, to <br />begin on or before July 1, 1977, at the A Step Salary Range. RAMOS <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />June 10, 1977 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Colton was held on the above given date at 5:00 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Beltran presiding. <br />Rni i r.A1 i <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Beltran. Also present were Acting City <br />Manager Johnsen, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />Multi -Service Center/Veterans Park <br />Future Medical Services <br />Acting City Manager Johnsen read a memorandum dated June 10, 1977, from Community Development Coordinator Arturo de <br />la Cerda, regarding the possibility of establishing an ambulatory health clinic in the proposed Multi -Service <br />Center, with the San Bernardino County Health Care Services Agency, as discussed at a previous Council Meeting. <br />Mr. Johnsen also referred to a letter dated June 10, 1977, addressed to Supervisor Robert 0. Townsend, Chairman of <br />the County Board of Supervisors, requesting their consideration and assistance in Colton's endeavors, to be signed <br />by the Mayor. <br />Mr. Johnsen advised that the Community Citizens Advisory Commission, at a Special Meeting held June 9, 1977, <br />recommended to the City Council to direct Staff to continue investigating the possibility of obtaining funds for an <br />expansion to accommodate the Clinic and to forward the letter to the Board of Supervisors as prepared, with minor <br />modifications. <br />After brief discussion, moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman.Gonzales, approving Staff's report and <br />authorizing Mayor to sign letter to be forwarded to Supervisor Robert 0. Townsend, Chairman of the County Board of <br />Supervisors, as outlined. Vote was unanimous. <br />Legal <br />Norman Engineering <br />City Attorney Edwards reported that the case regarding Norman Engineering has not been settled as yet, but will be <br />coming up in court on Thursday, June 16, 1977. <br />Mr. Edwards recommended the City Council approve the issuance of a warrant in the amount of $141,000, as settlement, <br />with regard to the Water Quality Control Plant and appurtenances. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, that a warrant for $141,000 be issued to Norman <br />Engineering in full payment and credit for all work and advise to the City of Colton in construction of the Water <br />Quality Control Plant and appurtenances, including all claims made in the pending Superior Court action.
