Capital Improvements - 57-9801 105 <br />P p <br />Discussion was held on the matter of enlarging the existing parking lot for the <br />Police Department, in the amount of $4,900., however, this was deleted from the <br />budget. <br />City Manager Calabrese advised that of the seven Departmental Budgets reviewed <br />this evening, including the City Council, the total deletions amount to $371,332., <br />with a total tentative budget thus far of $1,969,103. <br />Payments/Purchases <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, authorizing the City <br />Manager to make the necessary purchases of supplies for various departments as <br />required, and issue payment of the billings. Unanimous vote. <br />Personnel <br />Key Punch Operator <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve and authorize <br />the hiring of a Key Punch Operator for the Data Processing Division, to fill the <br />vacancy created by resignation of the former employee. VERALRUD <br />Deputy City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />Approved this 1st day of August, 1978. <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 24, 1978 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of <br />the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 6:00 <br />p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, and Mayor Gonzales. Also <br />present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards and City Clerk Ramos. <br />_FEDERALLY FUNDED PROJECTS <br />Resolution No. 3840 <br />City Manager Calabrese introduced Resolution No. 3840 reading it as to title, <br />A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Colton Authorizing the Filing <br />of an Application with the Economic Development Administration, U. S. Department <br />of Commerce, United States of America, for a Grant Under the Terms of Public Law <br />89-136, as Amended. <br />City Manager Calabrese reported the resolution along with a Memorandum of Under- <br />standing would authorize the City of Colton to participate in a five -city grant <br />application for the purpose of securing a Planning Grant under Title IX of the <br />Public Works and Economic Development Act. Mr. Calabrese stated one of the five <br />:ities would be d Esignated as the lead agency in preparing and submitting the <br />said application. <br />Mr. Longville, 175 East Easton Street, Rialto, Representative of Congressman Brown, <br />addressed the Council saying approval of the resolution and memorandum of under- <br />standing will clear the way for the City of Colton to join with four other cities <br />to apply for a grant under Title IX. Mr. Longville explained there would actually <br />be two grant applications involved. The first being for the purpose of securing <br />a Planning Grant in order to hire a consulting firm that will develop the neces- <br />sary documentation for the main grant. <br />JUL 2 � 1978 <br />
