182 COUNCIL MEETING December 19, 1978 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales pre- siding. Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. Rni i ('Al i Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards and City Clerk Ramos. CONSENT CALENDAR: Mi niitac December 5, 1978 Warrants 22147, 22160 through 22399 16868 through 17009 December 14, 1978 Inclusive Claims Lee S. Gonzales vs. the City of Colton; recommend denial. Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote. CORRESPONDENCE: Social Service Indorsement Files City Manager Calabrese read a letter from Millie J. Tantardini, dated December 7, 1978, requesting emergency funding in order to continue operation of the Temporary Shelter for Battered Children and Women of our area. No action was taken by the City Council on this matter. PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Zoning P. C. Res. No. 901 Planning Director Gonzales stated the prezoning of Annexation West 31, as outlined in Planning Commission Resolution No. 901, was referred back to the Planning Com- mission for further review and public input. Mr. Gonzales advised that two of the parties protesting the prezoning had with- drawn their opposition, and the third party did not attend the meeting held December 12, 1978. Mr. Gonzales stated the Planning Commission recommends approval of Planning Com- mission Resolution No. 901, and First Reading of Ordinance No. 1556. Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to waive further reading of Ordinance No. 1556. Vote was unanimous. ORDINANCE NO. 1556 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9645 First Reading AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. Zoninq Case Files Mr. Gonzales reported on a request from Mr. William Trimble to remodel an existing vacant structure located behind a residence at 243 West "C" Street, in an M-1 zone, at a cost of approximately $15,000. Mr. Gonzales read portions of the City's zon- ing ordinance, Section 18.38.110, on the regulations regarding remodeling of resi- dences located within M-1 or M-2 zones.
