182 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 19, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales pre- <br />siding. <br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. <br />Rni i ('Al i <br />Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards and City Clerk <br />Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Mi niitac <br />December 5, 1978 <br />Warrants <br />22147, 22160 through 22399 <br />16868 through 17009 <br />December 14, 1978 Inclusive <br />Claims <br />Lee S. Gonzales vs. the City of Colton; recommend denial. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Social Service Indorsement Files <br />City Manager Calabrese read a letter from Millie J. Tantardini, dated December 7, <br />1978, requesting emergency funding in order to continue operation of the Temporary <br />Shelter for Battered Children and Women of our area. <br />No action was taken by the City Council on this matter. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Zoning <br />P. C. Res. No. 901 <br />Planning Director Gonzales stated the prezoning of Annexation West 31, as outlined <br />in Planning Commission Resolution No. 901, was referred back to the Planning Com- <br />mission for further review and public input. <br />Mr. Gonzales advised that two of the parties protesting the prezoning had with- <br />drawn their opposition, and the third party did not attend the meeting held <br />December 12, 1978. <br />Mr. Gonzales stated the Planning Commission recommends approval of Planning Com- <br />mission Resolution No. 901, and First Reading of Ordinance No. 1556. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to waive further <br />reading of Ordinance No. 1556. Vote was unanimous. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1556 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9645 <br />First Reading AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />Zoninq Case Files <br />Mr. Gonzales reported on a request from Mr. William Trimble to remodel an existing <br />vacant structure located behind a residence at 243 West "C" Street, in an M-1 zone, <br />at a cost of approximately $15,000. Mr. Gonzales read portions of the City's zon- <br />ing ordinance, Section 18.38.110, on the regulations regarding remodeling of resi- <br />dences located within M-1 or M-2 zones. <br />
