176 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 5, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales pre- <br />siding. <br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by the Reverend John Wolfe of the Healing Waters Assembly. <br />Rni i rm i <br />Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk <br />Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Minutes <br />November 21, 1978 <br />Warrants <br />21677, 21908 through 22146 <br />16755 through 16867 <br />December 1, 1978 Inclusive <br />Bids <br />Request permission to advertise for Bids on purchase of street light standards <br />and fixtures for Cooley Drive West and San Antonio Street. <br />Colton High School Band Club <br />Request permission to sell Christmas Candy Calendars at Christmas Parade, <br />December 9, 1978. <br />Claims <br />Joseph & Cecilia Malet vs. City of Colton; Linda J. Gee vs. City of Colton; <br />Recommend denial. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION REPORTS AND RFrnMMFNDATTnNC- <br />Awards <br />Recreation Director Max Lofy presented plaque awards to the outstanding female and <br />male athlete of the year, and outstanding team of the year. <br />Mr. Lofy presented these awards to Red's Team of the Ken Hubbs Little League, out- <br />standing single team effort, to Marcella Villanueva, outstanding female athlete, <br />and to Henry Aldama, outstanding male athlete, reading each recipient's many <br />achievements. <br />The honored athletes were congratulated by the Council Members and all present. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Awards <br />Mayor Gonzales presented a plaque, containing a "Key to the City", to Sara Andon, <br />Third Place Winner in the Americanism Essay Contest. <br />Proclamations <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation honoring Bill of Rights Week, December <br />10 through 16, 1978. <br />Professional Organization Files <br />)If ; C Chamber of Commerce <br />Mr. Duane Sharp, President of the Chamber of Commerce, stated he hoped the Council <br />Members had reviewed and studied the Chamber's Report and Action Plan for 1978-79, <br />DEC 1978. <br />
