<br />DECEMBER 18, 1979
<br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above
<br />given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales
<br />presiding.
<br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Invocation was offered by Father Michael A. Keane of Immaculate Conception Church.

<br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS:
<br />Resolution of Congratulations
<br />Mayor Gonzales read in full four Resolutions of Congratulations honoring Vicki
<br />Phelps, Annette Espinosa, Marcella Villanueva, and Jade Carvalho for their in-
<br />dividual achievements in Women's Field Hockey , presenting a resolution to each
<br />one of the recipients.

<br />Mayor Gonzales read his memorandum dated December 18, 1979, with regard to closing
<br />City Hall on December 24th at 12:00 noon, so that the City employees would be able
<br />to spend more time with their families on Christmas Eve, inasmuch as President
<br />Carter has declared Christmas Eve a holiday for all Federal employees and Governor
<br />Brown is offering all State employees one-half day.
<br />Mayor Gonzales said in discussion this with the Association President, John
<br />Spalding, he was informed that quite a number of the City employees have re-
<br />quested consideration from the Council on this.
