COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 3, 1979 <br />18• <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales pre- <br />siding. <br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by the Reverend Father Gustavo Benson of San Salvador Church. <br />ROLL CALL.- <br />Council <br />ALL: <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards and City Clerk <br />Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Minutes <br />December 19, 1978 <br />�. Warrants <br />22412 through 22655 <br />17010 through 17147 <br />December 29, 1978 <br />Bids - Request permission to advertise for bids on Equipment Replacement, withdrawn. <br />Bids - Award of bid for street light standards and fixtures. <br />Vehicles - sale of excess vehicles. <br />Governmental Agencies Environmental Health Services, Semi-annual Report. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer,.to approve the <br />Consent Calendar with the deletion of bids on equipment replacement. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'!; RFPORTS ANP PRuI AMATMNI� <br />Awards <br />Resolution of Commendation <br />Councilman Hayes read a memorandum from the Recreation Director and the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission in which they praised and extended jubilant congratula- <br />tions to Football Coach Markham, his staff and the members of his 1978 C.I.F. <br />Football Championship Squad. <br />Mayor Gonzales read and presented the Resolution of Commendation to Coach Markham <br />who introduced student Marvin Williams, member of the football squard since the <br />9th grade. <br />Appointments <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to a memorandum from Councilman Hayes, in which Councilman <br />Hayes recommended the appointment of Mr. Randall Anstine to fill the vacancy on <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to ratify the <br />appointment of Mr. Randall Anstine of 920 East Olive Street, to the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission. Unanimous vote. <br />CORRFSPONPFNCF! <br />Budget <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Mayor Gonzales advised that the letter from the Chamber of Commerce requesting a <br />reply to their mid year report and budget request, would be taken up under Item 12 <br />of tonights Agenda. <br />JAN �' 1979 <br />
