91 City Manager Benest advised this matter will be discussed at Staff Meeting tomorrow, and hopefully this matter can be taken care of. Mrs. Pauline Garcia, 489 North 4th Street, spoke to the Council about the recently adopted Ordinance for sewer rates and the lower rates for senior citizens. Mrs. Garcia said she felt this Ordinance should be taken under advisement and restudied. Mrs. Garcia stated the senior rate should be based on wages and age and not water use or number of people in the household. City Manager Benest stated this would be referred to Administrative Services for review. City Manager The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 9:15 p. m., to discuss Pending Litigation, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9, re- garding Workers Compensation Matters, and reconvened at 9:33 p. m., all Members present. ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios and unani- mously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 9:35 p. m. HELEN A. Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by Associate Pastor Rick Anderson, Healing Waters Church. ROLL CALL_ Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Keane, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. CONSENT CALENDAR: ( 1 ) Minutes May 16, 1989 JUN 6 1989 City Manager Benest stated that inasmuch as this would be his last Council Meeting for the City of Colton, he would like to take this opportunity to thank each Council Member, his Executive Staff, and all employees he has worked with over the past three years. Mr. Benest said he would also like to thank local merchants and the public for their cooperation and assistance. Mr. Benest stated that although he will miss Colton, he and his wife are looking forward to moving on to the LD City of Brea. ® The Mayor and Council Members commended Mr. Benest for a job well done ca and for his efforts over the past three years, and wished him good luck and God speed.
