4 <br />2 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-19-07 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON AMENDING SECTIONS 15.04.010, 15.04.020, <br />15.04.090, AND CHAPTER 15.16 OF THE COLTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE IN THEIR ENTIRETY, THROUGH <br />ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2007 EDITION OF THE <br />CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE <br />(CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 24); <br />INCORPORATING THE 2007 CALIFORNIA BUILDING <br />CODE, (INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2006 <br />INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE); THE 2007 <br />CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE (INCORPORATING <br />AND AMENDING THE 2005 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL <br />CODE); THE 2007 CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE <br />(INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2006 <br />UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE); THE 2007 <br />CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE (INCORPORATING <br />AND AMENDING THE 2006 UNIFORM PLUMBING <br />CODE) AND THE 2007 CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE <br />(INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2006 EDITION <br />OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE); TOGETHER <br />WITH CERTAIN ADDITIONS, INSERTIONS, DELETIONS <br />AND CHANGES THERETO; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE <br />THE 1997 UNIFORM SIGN CODE; THE 1997 UNIFORM <br />CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS <br />BUILDINGS; THE 1997 UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE <br />CODE; THE 2000 UNIFORM SWIMMING POOL, SPA, <br />AND HOT TUB CODE; THE 1997 UNIFORM CODE FOR <br />BUILDING CONSERVATION; AND THE 1997 UNIFORM <br />HOUSING CODE; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 0- <br />13-02 AND 0-14-02 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to California Government Code Section 50022.1 et seq. the <br />City of Colton ("City") may adopt by reference the California Building Standards Code, 2007 <br />Edition as provided in Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations adopting certain uniform <br />codes, including the 2007 California Building Code ("CBC"), the 2007 California Mechanical <br />Code ("CMC"), the 2007 California Plumbing Code ("CPC"), the 2007 California Electrical <br />Code ("CEC"), and the 2007 California Fire Code ("CFC") and the City may adopt other uniform <br />codes, including, without limitation, the 1997 Uniform Sign Code, the 1997 Uniform Code for the <br />Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, the 1997 Uniform Administrative Code, the 2000 Uniform <br />Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code, the 1997 Uniform Code for Building Conservation and <br />the 1997 Uniform Housing Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the California Building Standards Commission ("Commission") <br />recently adopted new amendments to the California Building Standards Code; and <br />WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code, Sections 17958.5 and 18941.5 <br />authorize cities and counties to modify the California Building Standards Code by adopting more <br />restrictive building standards and modifications if such standards and modifications are <br />accompanied by express findings that they are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, <br />geological or topographical conditions; and <br />-1- <br />
