2017 AUGUST 21 CC/SARDA/CUA/CPFA/CHA SPECIAL MEETING - 1 - <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />CITY COUNCIL/SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> FOR THE CITY OF COLTON/COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY/ <br />COLTON PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY AND <br />COLTON HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />August 21, 2017 <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held at 5:05 p.m. on the above- <br />given date in the Council Chamber of City Hall, located at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, <br />California, Mayor Pro Tem Toro presiding. Notice of Special Meeting was given on August 16, <br />2017, in compliance with Government Code Section 54954.2. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL <br />Councilmembers present were, MPT Toro, Navarro, González, Woods, Suchil; Mayor <br />DeLaRosa absent. <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT <br />City Manager Smith, City Attorney Campos, and City Clerk Padilla. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br /> <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />AUGUST 21, 2017. <br /> <br />GIFT DISCLOSURES <br />Mayor Pro Temp Toro asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a <br />conflict of interest, pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br /> <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Mayor Pro Tem Toro asked the members present if there were any brief reports on meetings <br />attended at the expense of the City. (GC Section 53232.3(d). None disclosed. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following community members addressed the Council: Cynthia Ramirez, and Jose Olivar. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />(1) Interviews and Discussion of Appointment to fill the City Council Seat Vacancy for <br />District 2. <br />City Clerk Padilla informed Councilmembers present there would be a housekeeping item to be <br />discussed and decided by Council. Applicant Jimmy Villegas was not able to make his interview <br />appointment due to a conflict. Council has several options: (1) reschedule Mr. Villegas interview <br />for a date available by Council and Mr. Villegas; (2) reschedule this meeting to another date and <br />time where all applicants will be available to be interviewed by Council; or (3) Council will <br />continue with interviews with the applicants that are present. Consensus by all Councilmembers <br />present to continue the interview process with the applicants present.
