CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 16, 1997 A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 6:18 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. FLAG SALUTE: Mayor Gaytan invited Councilmember Cook to lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. INVOCATION: Dr. Tom Harvick offered the invocation. ROLL CALL: Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, Councilmember James Grimsby and Mayor Karl E. Gaytan. Also present were Interim City Manager Wood, Interim City Attorney Carvalho and City Clerk Barrera. CLOSED SESSION Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session and would take fon-nal action in Closed Session to add an item regarding Public Employment: Economic Development Director and that reportable action was anticipated on the decision to select an Economic Development Director. Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54956.95, to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the following matter of pending litigation: Liability Claim against the City Claimant: Theresa Gonzalez Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session for conference with Legal Counsel pursuant to Government Code §54957.6 to confer with Labor Negotiator Dennis Morris regarding negotiations with representatives of the General Bargaining Unit. Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session for conference with Legal Counsel pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(a) and (b), to discuss potential litigation related to labor matters.
