CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 16, 1997 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date <br />at 6:18 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Gaytan invited Councilmember Cook to lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Dr. Tom Harvick offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember <br />Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, <br />Councilmember James Grimsby and Mayor Karl E. Gaytan. Also present were Interim City <br />Manager Wood, Interim City Attorney Carvalho and City Clerk Barrera. <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session and <br />would take fon-nal action in Closed Session to add an item regarding Public Employment: <br />Economic Development Director and that reportable action was anticipated on the decision to <br />select an Economic Development Director. <br />Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session, <br />pursuant to Government Code §54956.95, to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the <br />following matter of pending litigation: <br />Liability Claim against the City <br />Claimant: Theresa Gonzalez <br />Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session for <br />conference with Legal Counsel pursuant to Government Code §54957.6 to confer with Labor <br />Negotiator Dennis Morris regarding negotiations with representatives of the General Bargaining <br />Unit. <br />Interim City Attorney Carvalho announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session for <br />conference with Legal Counsel pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(a) and (b), to discuss <br />potential litigation related to labor matters. <br />City Council Nfinutes December 16, 1997 <br />
