CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES JULY 159 1997 A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 5:56 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. FLAG SALUTE: Mayor Gaytan invited CM Sanders to lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. INVOCATION: Dr. Tom Harvick offered the invocation. ROLL CALL: Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember David Sandoval and Mayor Gaytan. Also present were Acting City Manager Harmon, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Barrera. Absent because of illness was Councilmember Deirdre Bennett. CLOSED SESSION: City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54957.6, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernandez Harmon, regarding negotiations with representatives of the Fire, Police Rank & File and Police Management Bargaining Units. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54957, with respect to Public Employee Appointment: Appointment of Interim City Manager. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54957, with respect to Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with its Legal Counsel regarding the following matters of pending litigation: City of Colton v. Steward; Steward v. Sandoval. Biggs et al; and ON of Colton v. Club 215. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(b), to confer with Legal Counsel regarding one matter of significant exposure to potential litigation. At 5:57 P. M., Mayor Gaytan recessed the meeting to Closed Session. At 8:14 P. M., the general meeting was reconvened with all Members present as heretofore.
