Bennett <br />City Attorney Carvalho <br />➢ Proclamation was read declaring the Month of May as Veterans Appreciation Month; Veteran <br />Richard Rojas, from the State's EDD Office, accepted the document. Mayor Gaytan <br />announced Veterans Services' on Memorial Day at Montecito Cemetery. <br />ADDITION TO AGENDA: <br />Rocks Club <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Cook/Bennett to add a Closed Session item to the <br />Agenda, as anticipated litigation, relating to the Rocks Club. City Attorney Carvalho advised that <br />the City Council needed to make two findings: (1) That the item arose after the posting of the <br />agenda and she stated that the incident took place after the agenda was posted and (2) that there is <br />a need to take immediate action based on the City Council's concern for the safety, health and <br />welfare of the community. Motion carried with Mayor Gaytan abstaining [no basis provided.] <br />City Attorney indicated that the item would be added as a "Conference with Legal Counsel, <br />concerning anticipated litigation, under Government Code Section 54956.9(b)." <br />City Council Mins May 18, 1999 1 <br />
