CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For the Council Meeting of December 1, 1998
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CIN C UNCIL
N
APPROVAL: HENRY T. GARCIA, CIMANAGE
FROM: THOMAS K. CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR'Cvres
SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF EASEMENT FROM SAWPA FOR THE
REALIGNMENT OF AGUA MANSA RD.
DATE: NOVEMBER 18, 1998
BACKGROUND:
The Cities of Colton and Rialto have been in the process of realigning Agua Mansa
Road to accommodate the area -wide traffic plan which has designated the road as a
major arterial thorough -fare. The easement from Southern California Edison for its
distribution facilities on the RIX site and adjacent to Agua Mansa Road has already
been obtained.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA) is the vested property owner of
the RIX Facility, until they have completed all of the transactions resulting from the
construction of the facility. Therefore, the City of Colton requested an easement from
SAWPA. The RIX Joint Powers Authority Board approved the easement on November
41 1998 and directed SAWPA to issue the easement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no cost to the Cities of Colton and San Bernardino for the easement.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council accept the easement from SAWPA for the realignment
of Agua Mansa Road.
Report Prepared By: Lorraine June
Item No. 12
