CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of April 17, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Jerry Young, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid to Communi ations Resources Co. Date: April 11, 1990 <br />to Conduct Consulting for Telephone Service <br />in the Amount of $14,200.00. <br />Staff sent out Requests For Proposal in January to several com- <br />panies to provide the City with consulting services to determine <br />our communication needs. We felt that this requirement is needed <br />at this time because of the rising costs of telephone equipment <br />and service. Newer technology will help us reduce our communi- <br />cations cost overall. A staff report to the Mayor and City Council <br />is attached to further explain the reasons for the RFP. <br />Four consulting firms were interviewed for this requirement. A <br />Bid Analysis is attached showing their fees; but, selection was <br />based on the information received during the interviews. Pro- <br />fessionalism, experience and references were the key areas the <br />interviewers evaluated. <br />Funds are available in the Administrative Services Professional <br />Services account for the consulting service. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Communications Resources <br />Company be awarded a contract to provide communication consulting <br />in an amount of $14,200.00. <br />Report prepared by K.
