CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For Council Meeting of December 6, 1994 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: Randy Anstine, Director of Recreation & Human Services SUBJECT: Consideration and Ratification of Award of Bid For The Following Trades In The Construction of the Colton Community Center: Structural Steel/Metal Decking; Rough Framing; Roofing; Flooring; Wood Flooring; Miscellaneous Steel; Cabinets; Drywall,Plaster,Framing; Painting/Wall Covering, Paving, Flooring DATE: November 22, 1994 RECOAUWENDATION: Based upon the analysis of the bids as accepted by the Project Contract Manager, City staff and the Contract Manager recommend ratification of the bid awards for construction trades, related to the Colton Community Center. Award recommendation is as follows: Paving work to Universal Asphalt Co.; Structural Steel/Metal Decking work to Cowelco $293,800; Miscellaneous Steel work to Columbia Steel Inc., $43,397; Rough Framing work to C & H Construction $216,100; Cabinet work to Stollo Cabinets, Inc., $30,965; Roofing work to Letner Roofing $56,555; Drywall, Plaster, Framing work to John Jory Corporation $396,206; Flooring work to Flooring Concepts $21,779; Flooring work to Flooring Concepts; Painting/Wall Covering work to Saunders & McMillian, Inc., $43,800; Wood Flooring work to All Sport Flooring $61,201. POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTIONS: 1. Approve as recommended by staff; or, 2. Reject any or all bids; or, 3. Deny. AUTHORITY: The California Government Code and the City of Colton Municipal Code, address the requirements and procedures for public works contracts and notice inviting bids. Every project involving an expenditure of more than five thousand dollars for the construction or improvement of public buildings, works, streets, drains, sewers, utilities, parks, and play grounds shall be let by contract to the lowest responsible bidder, after notice by publication. ,d�„ �a, 3 7
