RAMOS
City Clerk
Approved this day of , 1974. _
Mayor
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
July 22, 1974
In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City
Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council
Chambers of -City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding.
ROLL CALL:
Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor-Huntoon. Also present
were Acting City Manager Williams, City Attorney Hutton, and City Clerk Ramos.
Introduction
Mayor Huntoon reported the primary purpose of the Adjourned Meeting this evening is to con-
sider a Sewer Agreement with the community of Grand Terrace and also to consider agreements
with the City of San Bernardino.,for water for freeway landscaping; with the State of California
for the furnishing of landscaping.
Water Agreement - City of San Bernardino
Planning Director Williams reported that due to the fact the City of Colton -does not have any
water lines adjacent to the big interchange and the City does desire to have the interchange
landscaped, -an agreement with the City of San Bernardino has been drawn up whereby the City
of Colton will purchase water from the City of San Bernardino who does have water lines in the
area of the interchange.
Mr. Williams stated that in order for the State of California to landscape the interchange,
the City of Colton must enter into an agreement with the State insuring an adequate water
supply for the landscape project.
Mr. Williams reported the City of Colton would purchase the water from the City of San Bernardino
at a rate of $0.69 per 100 cu. ft., the agreement is for ten years with Colton having the option
of terminating the agreement on 120 day notice.
Mr. Williams said the project is a three phase plan and will be done over a couple of years,
during the first two or three years the City would be using approximately 30,000 acre feet
per year and at full development not more than 160 acre feet per year would be used at a cost
of $4,808.00.
Mr. Williams stated the agreement with the City of San Bernardino could be considered by
minute action, however, the agreement he will be presenting with the State of California
will require a resolution.
On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, the
water agreement by and between the City of Colton and the City of San Bernardino was approved.
-"J U L 2 21974
