COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 7, 1975 <br />3 :5 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date <br />at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by the Reverend James Hutton of the First Presbyterian Church of Colton. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins , Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also pre- <br />sent were City Manager Huffaker, City Attorney Hutton, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Minutes <br />December 17, 1974 <br />December 23, 1974 <br />_ Warrants <br />993-1139 <br />16139 - 16686 <br />January 3, 1975 Inclusive <br />Deeds : <br />Grant Deeds (2) Street <br />Purposes, Cooley Ranch <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Consent Calendar. Vote <br />was unanimous. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Award <br />Resolution of Commendation <br />Resolution commending "Yellow Jackets" Football Team read by Councilman Hayes. To be awarded <br />at the school banquet. <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Letter of Appreciation <br />Letter read by Mayor Huntoon. Chamber appreciation expressed for City's participation in <br />Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park Program. <br />Award <br />Police Reserve <br />Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation made to Acting Chief of Police by Chamber of Commerce <br />Member Evelyn Rehrer for work done by Police Reserves during Christmas Activies . <br />Boards and Commissions: <br />Civil Service Commission <br />Recreation & Parks Commission <br />Appointments to Civil Service and Recreation and Parks Commissions held over for Executive <br />Session. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />PPr.-qnnnP1- <br />Cemetery Assistant Position <br />Mayor declared the public hearing open. City Manager submitted the Affidavit of Posting. <br />Upon duly and legally held public hearing, hearing was terminated on motion of Councilman Rehrer, <br />seconded by Councilwoman S prag ins . <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the recommendation of <br />City Manager Huffaker to modify job classification -of Cemetery Assistant and to decrease salary <br />range. Vote was unanimous. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Library: <br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter from the Colton Woman's Club signed by Mrs. Tom Beckwith, <br />Mrs. Kay Holtzendorff, Mrs. Dane Karr, and Mrs. Marian Hemphill requesting inclusion in <br />Community Development Act Funding. <br />City Manager Huffaker suggested this letter be placed with other projects being considered <br />under the Community Development Act Funds. <br />
