2018 JANAURY 25 SPEC MTNG JOINT CC/PLANNING COMMISSION 1 <br />JOINT SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF COLTON CITY COUNCIL/SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF COLTON/COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY/ <br />COLTON PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY AND <br />COLTON HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />AND <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />July 10, 2018 <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton and the Planning Commission was <br />held at 5:33 p.m. on the above-given date in the Council Chamber of City Hall, located at 650 <br />North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California, Mayor DeLaRosa and Chairperson Prieto presiding. <br />Notice of Special Meeting was given on July 5, 2018, in compliance with Government Code <br />Section 54956. <br /> <br />FLAG SALUTE: CM Navarro <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL: <br />Councilmembers present were Cisneros, Navarro, González, MPT Woods, Suchil, and Mayor <br />DeLaRosa. Absent Councilmember Toro (excused). Also present were City Manager Smith, <br />Assistant City Attorney Martinez, and City Clerk Padilla <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners present were Tripp, Delgado, Grossich, Pirestani, Archuleta, Granado- <br />Dominguez, and Chairperson Prieto. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />None. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />1. Calling for the placement of a measure on the Ballot at the November 6, 2018 General <br />Municipal Election for the submission to the qualified voters of a proposed ordinance <br />reducing the number of City Council members for six with an at-large elected Mayor to <br />four with at-large elected Mayor and establishing new City Council Electoral District <br />boundaries <br /> <br />Staff Presentation <br />City Manager made introductory remarks; the Colton City Council consists of six member <br />members who are elected ‘by district” from six districts with an at-large elected Mayor. The City <br />Council gave staff direction to explore the possibility of reducing the number of City <br />Councilmembers from six (6) to (4) while retaining an at-large elected Mayor; also exploring the <br />establishment of new boundaries for City Council elector districts, thereby reducing the number <br />of electoral districts within the City from six(6) to four (4).
