Special Meeting held on the above -given date at 5:52 p.m. at the Hutton Center, 660 Colton Avenue, <br />Colton, California, with Mayor DeLaRosa presiding; all members present as heretofore <br />BUSINESS ITEMS <br />1. Workshop - Refuse/Solid Waste Services <br />Amer Jakher, Public Works Director, began the presentation related to Refuse/Solid Waste <br />Services by introducing members of the Negotiation Team; City of Colton: Victor Ortiz, <br />Engineering Superintendent; Jessica Sutorus, Environmental Conservation Supervisor; Reggie <br />Torres, Associate Engineer; and Jennifer Shimmin, Water Conservation Specialist; Republic <br />Services: Andre Griggs, General Manager; and Jim Ambrose, Senior Area Municipal Services <br />Manager. <br />Ms. Shimmin presented for Council review a PowerPoint presentation that entailed all aspects <br />developed by the Negotiation Team entitled `Solid Waste Services Negotiations'; a presentation <br />that included the changes and cost impact as it related to the solid waste services and rate <br />changes. <br />Basic Background <br />August 2014 <br />Council directs staff to negotiate an amendment to the existing contract. <br />Survey done of other municipal standards. <br />September 2014 <br />In house negotiations begin. <br />December 2014 <br />Colton Landfill closes December 30, 2014. <br />4.25% increase in cost to haul to Mid -Valley Landfill <br />June 30, 2016 <br />County WDA Agreement set to expire. <br />Current agreement with Republic set to expire <br />Current Services <br />Items included in amended Contract <br />Road Impact Fee <br />Optional Services <br />Tree Trimming <br />Street Sweeping <br />Illegal Dumping Service <br />2015 FEBRUARY 10 CC/SARDA/CUA/CPFA/CHA SPECIAL MEETING -2- <br />
