CEREMONIAL MATTERS Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />• Presentation - Recognition of the 2012 Home Decorating Contest Participants <br />MPT Toro presented certificates and checks to the participants of the 2012 Home Decorating <br />Contest Participants. MPT Toro thanked Historic Preservation Commissioner Linda Tripp, <br />Council Members Oliva and Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Rashford, Leno and the Moreno Family. <br />MPT Toro also thanked the Mayor and Council Members and Leno Moreno for their donations <br />which made it possible to provide monetary prizes to the ls` place winners. The participants <br />received certificates and monetary prizes as follows: <br />Daniel Rodriguez, District 1 — 15` Place, $50 <br />Jim & Linda Tripp, District 1 — Is'Place, $50 <br />Tony Lemos, District 2 — l't Place, $50 <br />Bruce & Donna Lewis, District 5 — 1" Place, $50 <br />Art (CM Oliva's neighbor), District 4 — 15` Place, $50 <br />Veronica Rodriguez, District 4 — I't Place, $50 <br />Mauricio Arrellano, District 4 — ls1 Place, $50 <br />Jessica Castorena, District 4 <br />Ken & Patsy Davison, District 5 <br />Romy Amezcua, District 1 <br />Amanda Bennett, District 5 <br />Joel Gallegos, District 2 <br />Cecilia Rasso, District 4 <br />Gerald Gaitan, District 3 <br />Juan Gutierrez, District 4 <br />Ronald Perez, District 3 <br />• Proclamation - Mel Salazar, 50 Years of Service <br />This presentation was continued to a future council meeting due to Mr. Salazar not being <br />available to receive his Proclamation. <br />• Proclamation - Special Presentation to Former Congressman Joe Baca <br />CM Gonzales approached the podium to present a Proclamation to former Congressman Joe <br />Baca, in honor of his many years of dedicated service to Colton and to recognize him as recipient <br />of a Key To The City of Colton. Former Congressman Joe Baca introduced his family and <br />former staff members that were present in the audience. Mayor Zamora presented Mr. Baca with <br />a Key To The City plaque and Council Members were given the opportunity to give comments. <br />At 7:00 p.m., Mayor Zamora announced a short recess and adjourned the special meeting to a <br />reception in honor of Former Congressman Joe Baca. <br />The special meeting reconvened at 7:18 p.m. and Mayor Zamora continued with Mayor and <br />Council Items. <br />2013 JAN 14 SPEC CC/SARDA/CUA/CPFA/CHA MEETING -3- <br />
