Council Members/Staff Absent <br />Eileen C. Gomez, City Clerk <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Deirdre H. Bennett left the dais at 6:12 p.m. due to a family emergency. <br />City Treasurer Aurelio De La Torre arrived in Open Session at 6:15 p.m. <br />INVOCATION <br />Pastor Jonathan D. Florez, First Assembly of God <br />FLAG SALUTE <br />Thomas Leon, VFW Post 6476 <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />• Proclamations — The Mayor presented proclamations to the three 2006 Colton High <br />School football players that were drafted to the NFL. Council Member Yzaguirre read <br />and presented the first proclamation to Shareece Wright, 2011 NFL Third Round Draft <br />Pick to the San Diego Chargers, who was present to receive his proclamation. In <br />attendance to present Shareece Wright with a Congressional Certificate was Stephen <br />Wall from Congressman Joe Baca's office. Mayor Zamora also acknowledged Jimmy <br />Smith as the 2011 NFL First Round Draft Pick to the Baltimore Ravens and Allen <br />Bradford, the 2011 NFL Sixth Round Draft Pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mayor <br />Zamora presented the two proclamations for the absent players to Kirk McVey, who <br />coached all three players at Colton High School in 2006. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />JUNE 7, 2011. <br />Mayor Zamora asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict of <br />interest pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None. <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Council Member Yzaguirre and Mayor Zamora attended the League of California Cities <br />Legislative Workshop on May 18th through May 20th in Sacramento, where they met with <br />Senator Bob Dutton, Senator McLeod's Chief of Staff, Assembly Member Wilmer Amina Carter <br />and Assembly Member Luis Alejo. Council Member Yzaguirre reported that they discussed <br />redevelopment and reform, specifically AB1250, which is being pursued in Sacramento to allow <br />communities to maintain the benefits of redevelopment. <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />City Commissions & Committees; Regional Boards & Committees <br />None. <br />2011 JUNE 7 REG CC/RDA/CUA MEETING - 3 - <br />
