Unanimous vote. *Councilwoman Garcia entered the Council Chambers at 7:45 p. m. PITRT.TC HF.ARTNQS: Personnel Res. No. R-64-87 Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. Personnel Officer Benest submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Mr. Benest reported the public hearing this evening is to amend the City's Pay and Classification Plan by changing the title of Library Director to City Librarian, of the Library Division under the Human Services Department. Mr. Benest stated the title of City Librarian would better describe the duties and responsibilities, the position would be placed in the Management/Confidential Unit, and the recom- mended salary would be on parity with other division heads in the Human Services Department. Mr. Benest advised that the Library Board of Trustees has reviewed, approved and support these recommendations. Mr. Benest concluded Staff recommends adoption of the Job Description for City Librarian and approval of Resolution No. R-64-87, amending the City's Pay and Classification Plan. Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. 2
