Agenda Item No. 1 regarding minutes of the meeting held March 15, <br />1994 and the Adjourned Meeting held March 16, 1994, would be tabled <br />until the next meeting to allow the City Clerk to provide a <br />transcript of the specific motion. <br />Item No. 2 <br />Motion by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Rios, <br />for roll call vote on Agenda Item 2 regarding Warrants. Mayor <br />Gonzales directed that roll call vote be taken by City Clerk Ramos. <br />Motion carried with Councilmember Beltran voting "No." <br />Item No. 6 <br />Councilmember Bennett asked about the carpet company. She inquired <br />about the asset seizure fund. She asked about the balance and how <br />the new law would affect this fund. Acting Chief Cabral answered <br />that he knew that the carpet had gone out to bid and that the <br />company was located in Orange. Councilmember Bennett said that her <br />remaining questions could be answered at a later time. <br />Motion by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by Councilmember Rios, <br />to award the bid to JJJ Floor Covering Inc., for carpet and tile <br />for the Police Department in the amount of $9,799.00 Unanimous <br />vote. <br />Item No. 8 <br />Mrs. Suzan Carr, 1150 N. La Cadena, noted that the building is in <br />great disrepair and that it covers 3,500 square feet. She inquired <br />as to what budget fund would be used for renovating. Is there <br />asbestos? Will there be a charge for roller-blading? How will the <br />City pay for this? <br />Mayor Gonzales informed that the rent is $1.00 for the first year. <br />He said that another individual would be sharing the roller- <br />blading. Roller-blading will be located on the west side of the <br />building and it is anticipated that the City will generate 50% <br />revenue. The City will do painting and utilize volunteers to do <br />some of this work. The owner of the building will contribute <br />$10,000 towards renovation. <br />Councilmember Bennett stated that Mr. Goldstein is doing roller- <br />blading and is present to answer any questions. She restated <br />information contained in the agreement and emphasized that if the <br />terms and conditions are not agreeable, the City can cancel the <br />agreement. <br />Mrs. Carr noted the rent in the amount of $3,948 is to be paid on <br />the second year and said that the City cannot afford it. <br />Councilmember Bennett said that the youth of the community are <br />M <br />APR 0 5 1994 <br />
