R-11-94. <br />(10) Traffic <br />Approval of Request for Multiple Day Street Closure by <br />AT&SF Railroad for Laurel and Olive Street Crossing <br />Repairs. <br />(11) Weed Abatement <br />Approve Administering Weed Abatement Services through the <br />City of Colton Fire Department rather than Contracting <br />out through the County of San Bernardino. <br />(12) Ambulance Litigation <br />Approve Participation in Amicus Curiae Brief in the <br />Matter of County of San Bernardino vs. City of San <br />Bernardino (Ambulance Litigation Appeal.) <br />Moved by Councilmember Cook, <br />approve the Consent Calendar <br />Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br />Presentation <br />seconded by Councilmember Sandoval, to <br />with Items Nos. 41 5 and 7 removed. <br />Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Chief David Driscoll <br />announced his pleasure in presenting the amount of $20,000 from the <br />Urban Forestry Department for the planting of 620 trees in the City <br />of Colton. The grant was prepared by Erik Wood and the <br />presentation was made to him. Chief Driscoll noted that the City <br />has received grants from $80,000 to $100,000 over the past three <br />years. Mayor Gonzales, on behalf of the Council and the Citizens <br />of Colton, expressed appreciation for the grant and commended Eric <br />Wood for his work on the grant. <br />Civic Center Fountain <br />Councilmember Cook pointed to the constant, costly repairs made to <br />the Civic Center fountain which continues to be an eyesore. She <br />recommended the fountain be filled and used as a planter for <br />flowers to enhance the beauty of the Civic Center. <br />Motion by Councilmember Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember Rios, <br />to approve Councilmember Cook's recommendation. Unanimous vote. <br />City Manager Young commended Council action which is expected to <br />JAN 18 1994 <br />
