Moved by Councilmember Cook, approve the Consent Calendar Unanimous vote. MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS Presentation seconded by Councilmember Sandoval, to with Items Nos. 41 5 and 7 removed. Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Chief David Driscoll announced his pleasure in presenting the amount of $20,000 from the Urban Forestry Department for the planting of 620 trees in the City of Colton. The grant was prepared by Erik Wood and the presentation was made to him. Chief Driscoll noted that the City has received grants from $80,000 to $100,000 over the past three years. Mayor Gonzales, on behalf of the Council and the Citizens of Colton, expressed appreciation for the grant and commended Eric Wood for his work on the grant. Civic Center Fountain Councilmember Cook pointed to the constant, costly repairs made to the Civic Center fountain which continues to be an eyesore. She recommended the fountain be filled and used as a planter for flowers to enhance the beauty of the Civic Center. Motion by Councilmember Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember Rios, to approve Councilmember Cook's recommendation. Unanimous vote. City Manager Young commended Council action which is expected to JAN 18 1994
