Program (GAP), distributed copies of a flyer announcing a graffiti <br />paint -out day on Saturday, July 16, 1994. He said that two <br />previously reluctant homeowners had now agreed to the paint -out <br />because matching paint colors would be provided. He invited anyone <br />interested in helping the community to join the paint out graffiti <br />day. <br />Recall <br />Mr. Arthur Ramos, 1110 Pennsylvania Ave., redressed the Notice of <br />Intent to Recall Councilmember Abe Beltran, charging him as <br />follows: (1) Engaging in self-serving political practices <br />resulting in the loss of over 10,000 jobs for the residents of <br />Colton; (2) Engaging in self-serving political practices resulting <br />in the loss of over one million dollars in sales tax revenue for <br />the City of Colton; (3) Engaging in self-serving political <br />practices resulting in the on-going discrimination against persons <br />of Mexican -American descent; (4) Engaging in self-serving political <br />practices in violation of the Brown Act; (5) Engaging in self- <br />serving political practices in direct conflict with the best <br />interest of the residents of Colton for personal financial and <br />political gain; and, (6) Engaging in self-serving political <br />practices in an effort to deny the residents of Colton information <br />disclosing unlawful activities by members of the City Council. <br />Mr. Ramos spoke briefly about not having had a sufficient number of <br />signatures on the first notice of intent to recall but that there <br />were now twenty -plus signatures on the second notice which was <br />being served by certified mail. He said he was waiting for a <br />correction to a recent newspaper article by Cerise Valenzuela. <br />With organization of MAPA, Mr. Ramos expected government to return <br />to the Citizens of Colton. <br />MAYOR & COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Boards and Commissions <br />Mayor Gonzales declared there were nothing to discuss. <br />Emergency Transportation Services <br />Ambulances <br />Mayor Gonzales recounted recent setbacks suffered by the City in <br />its attempt to initiate City run emergency ambulance transportation <br />services. He predicted that it will be some time before the City <br />can proceed to provide emergency ambulance transportation services <br />to the City of Colton. In the meantime, the City has found more <br />than one potential purchaser willing to pay full price for the <br />three ambulances.
