He noted <br />that the facility is now referred to as the "West Sub" and he <br />recommended that the City Council designate this facility as the <br />"Drews Substation" in recognition of the many years of dedicated <br />service of the Electric Utility Director who is retiring this year. <br />Councilmember Sandoval suggested the designation as "Gale A. Drews <br />Substation." Motion by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by <br />Councilmember Rios, to approve the designation of the proposed <br />substation to be constructed on the west side as the "Gale A. Drews <br />Substation." Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-72-94 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON TO APPROVE STAFF <br />RECOMMENDED NAMING OF THE NEW ELECTRIC <br />SUBSTATION. <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Motion by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by Councilmember Rios, <br />to approve Mayor Gonzales' recommendation for the appointment of <br />Ms. Hilda Garcia and Rev. Robert Johnson to the Library Board for <br />another three-year terms which will expire July 1, 1997. Unanimous <br />vote. <br />Appeal <br />As requested by City Attorney Biggs, this matter is continued with <br />the consensus of City Council. <br />PUBLIC HEARING: <br />Historical Designation of Landmark #42 <br />Mayor Gonzales announced that this was the time and place fixed for <br />Public Hearing to Consider the Historical Designation of Landmark <br />#42, located at 1249 North 9th Street. <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and <br />reported that no protests or objections were received. <br />Associate Planner Bob Dalquest reported the proposed site as a <br />residential dwelling, a simple, single -story building, which <br />predates the movement to the California Ranch Style, built in 1938 <br />by Carl R. and Cora L. Struckman. The Historic and Scenic <br />Preservation Commission reviewed and approved the historical <br />designation as requested by Lafayette and Yvette Fero. Mr. <br />Dalquest reported no fiscal impact was anticipated. <br />P, <br />JUN 21 1994 <br />
