At request of Economic Development <br />Director Gabriel, the matter is continued to March 16, 1994. <br />Correction to Minutes <br />City Manager Young asked for <br />City Council Meeting of March <br />paragraph on Page 4, Line 13 <br />shown as $750,000 and it shoul <br />d <br />Item No. 11 <br />a correction to the Minutes of the <br />1, 1994, specifically the second <br />where payment amount is presently <br />be $75,000. <br />Utilities Chairman Cordova provided a summary of events which have <br />culminated in the approval of the LEMNA project Contract which he <br />applauded. He expressed gratitude to City Council for its <br />foresight to use LEMNA, especially to Councilmember Bennett who <br />presented the idea. Mr. Cordova introduced Mr. John Redmond and <br />Ms. Sherry Dyer, LEMNA representatives, who thanked the City for <br />the opportunity to do the project. Chairman Cordova stated that <br />the City will save $41,000,000 by going with the LEMNA Secondary <br />Water Treatment Process. <br />Councilmember Bennett thanked the Utilities Commission for its hard <br />work. <br />ORAL COMMENTS <br />Canyon Estates <br />Rev. Stephen Anderson, 3049 Canyon Vista, said he had forwarded two <br />letters to City Council and felt hurt that he had not received <br />response from Councilmember Bennett. He spoke about slippage to <br />his house foundation --a house he purchased over two years ago for <br />$170,000. He said he had talked with Mayor Gonzales. Rev. <br />Anderson understood there was a problem with the developer but <br />asked if the City could step in. He said he had talked with <br />Senator Ayala's Office and he had been referred to the City for <br />assistance. He did not want to sue the City. He said that Mr. <br />Baden had told him there had been no inspection. <br />Councilmember Bennett apologized for not replying; however, she had <br />just recently moved into the area herself. She informed that she <br />had talked with Community Development Director Zamora who had <br />suggested shoring up the house with heavy duty pillars under the <br />house. Rev. Anderson stated this was a temporary fix and not a <br />solution to the problem. Councilmember Bennett informed him of the <br />M <br />MAR 1 5 1994 <br />
