experience of any future candidates for the position of City <br />Manager. <br />After brief discussion, Motion by Councilmember Rios, seconded by <br />Councilmember Bennett, to accept and adopt Resolution No. R-62-94. <br />unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-62-94 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R- <br />40-92 BY THE DELETION OF A PAY AND <br />CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY FOR THE POSITION <br />OF CITY MANAGER. <br />City Manager's Reports and Recommendations: <br />Recruitment for City Manager <br />After discussion with staff, Interim city Manager Winter requested <br />that Council authorize the recruitment and hire of a permanent City <br />Manager; approve advertisement therefor; approve that fliers be <br />distributed to cities, newspapers and special trade journals <br />nationwide; and, direct that recruitment be open for approximately <br />one month. He assured that staff would return to council for <br />review of requirements. <br />Motion by councilmember <br />Bennett, to accept staff <br />plans. Unanimous vote. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />Pending Litigation <br />Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember <br />recommendation regarding recruitment <br />City Attorney Biggs stated that Closed Session Items regarding <br />Stratton v. City of Colton (Workers Compensation Claim) and Parada <br />v. City of Colton can be continued to the next City Council <br />Meeting. <br />She stated that due to filing deadlines a decision is required on <br />City o Orange v. City of Hemet, et al (City of Colton is a named <br />Defendant.) <br />Amicus Curiae re Pending Litigation <br />City Attorney Biggs informed that, while the City is not a named <br />defendant therein, the pending litigation listed addressed issues <br />which were important to the City of Colton. She invited the City <br />Council to show support by joining the filing of Amicus Curiae <br />briefs. City Attorney Biggs further informed that the City would <br />not incur expense by this action. <br />7 <br />MAY 17 1994 <br />
