Marlene Diedrich, 272 East Olive Street, Colton, discussed the leash law. Ms. <br />Diedrich stated an incident happened on Wednesday, October 2, 1995, and stated <br />people must restrain their animals. Ms. Diedrich thanked the Chief of Police, <br />Mayor, and the Animal Control Officer who helped her with a dog attack. Ms. <br />Diedrich stated Councilmember Cook's service is to the residents and she should <br />inform them concerning dump sites and other issues. Mayor Fulp stated an <br />informational tape has been running on Channel 3, since the incident. <br />Eugene McMeans, 1450 Washington Street, Colton, discussed his two commercial <br />electrical accounts. Mr. McMeans stated the utility rate has increased 20.8% <br />since July 1994. The other commercial account has increased 29.1% for the same <br />period. The meter fees, demand charges, and energy rates have all increased. <br />Mr. McMeans stated he will give copies of the figures to the Council. Mr. <br />McMeans asked if water rates will increase since the electrical rates have <br />increased. Mr. McMeans asked if small to medium commercial utility customers <br />can afford to stay in Colton and contribute to the tax base. <br />Jean Ferrante, Colton, stated there was a problem on Lyndon Drive and <br />surrounding area on Sunday which Councilmember Cook responded to; she thanked <br />Councilmember Cook for her response. Ms. Ferrante asked the Council to rescind <br />the utility tax and the power cost adjustment and double the sewer fee. Ms. <br />Ferrante stated good sewers mean everything to children and to the City. <br />Jesse Valdivia, Sr., 644 East "C" Street, Colton, asked about the financial <br />situation on the landscape maintenance and asked if the employees will be <br />contract or paid through the general fund. Mr. Valdivia stated the City Manager <br />has been insubordinate, shown defiance, and is not entitled to a contract. <br />Elden Munion, 1618 East "C" Street, Colton, stated the parks and community <br />center are not being kept up and asked the Council to protect the children. <br />Bruce Gayton, 820 Healing Waters Drive, Colton, stated he is speaking from the <br />heart to others hearts and commended the Council for their decision to put down <br />the card casino. <br />The City Council recessed at 8:20 p.m. and reconvened at 8:32 p.m. All members <br />were present as before. <br />on Cash Balances by Fund for Months of May, June <br />month to <br />Mayor Pulp stated he requested this item as informational only and asked the <br />Council to bring back any questions.
