from the City Electric Department and for the installation. <br />Mr. Rios shared his experience as a volunteer at the Hutton Center. <br />Mr. Rios said he would agree with Mr. Martinez that the City <br />employees are hardworking and working smart; however, they are also <br />working many long hours and he is concerned that the employees will <br />experience burn out. Mr. Rios said is not realistic to think that <br />you can run two community centers with four people. Mr. Rios said <br />not only are the recreation programs suffering, but the many <br />organizational meetings that once were held at the centers have <br />also been affected. He asked that the Council take a close look at <br />adding some personnel back, saying these are community centers. <br />Mr. Rios recognized the work done by the Parks Department for the <br />leagues in spite of limited staff. <br />Mr. Rios reported the many rumors in the community and within the <br />school district with regard to reducing fire service and said it is <br />time for the Council to "Fish or Cut Bait" and say tonight that the <br />Fire Department will not be touched and put an end to all the <br />rumors. Mr. Rios said all departments are important including the <br />Police Department and the Council must be aware of the low morale <br />not only among City workers but the community at large due to the <br />continuing rumors of who is being cut and why certain individuals <br />are being cut. Mr. Rios closed by reminding everyone of Opening <br />Ceremonies and said the League needed $6,000 in donations. <br />Mayor Fulp said in order to put rumors to bed, he would state that <br />there has been no proposal by any member of the City Council to <br />close any fire station nor to lay off one sworn fireperson. Mayor <br />Fulp said it has never been on the table and as far as he is <br />concerned it will never be on the table. <br />Hidden Canyon Estates <br />Mr. Ernest Bedoya, 3052 Canyon Vista Drive, reported he has had a <br />lot of problems with his house as has Mr. Anderson. He spoke about <br />a meeting at the elementary school with Councilmember Bennett. He <br />stated he had requested from Councilmember Bennett, and from the <br />City, reports on his house with regard to compaction and he has not <br />received them. Mr. Bedoya said he had spoken with Mr. David Zamora <br />about the compaction report and has yet to receive it. He said <br />there is movement of the soil and he needs the compaction report <br />and blueprints of his house in order to find out what is happening. <br />Director Zamora responded that the compaction reports are <br />available, but that he did not recall speaking to him in the past. <br />Director Zamora invited Mr. Bedoya to call and make an appointment <br />at his convenience to come into the office to review the reports at <br />his leisure. <br />Mayor Fulp asked if it would be appropriate <br />Engineer review the grading of the project and <br />done correctly.
