Oath of Office <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Cook called the newly -elected City officials forward to the dais. <br />The Oath of Office was administered by Interim City Clerk Delgado who also issued <br />the Certificates of Election. <br />RECEPTION BREAK <br />At 6:24 P. M., Mayor Pro Tempore Cook declared a recess and invited everyone to <br />attend a reception in the City Hall lobby. At 6:54 P. M., meeting was reconvened <br />with all Members present as heretofore. <br />COMMENTS FROM INCOMING CITY OFFICIALS <br />District 3 <br />Councilmember Chastain thanked the Lord, friends and relatives for their <br />encouragement and to the citizens for their vote of confidence that she could do the <br />job. With hard work and prayer, she said some positive things would come from the <br />Council and the City of Colton. <br />District 6 <br />Councilmember Sandoval expressed genuine pleasure upon his return to this seat and <br />thanked the residents for their support. He recognized his family for their confidence <br />and support. He said he was involved in many projects because of the children. <br />District 5 <br />Councilmember Bennett expressed excitement at the dynamic make-up of the Council. <br />She thanked the residents for their vote, especially Brett and Cathy Buffington, <br />Colonel Jackson, Chris and Rebecca Gallegos, Bernice Adams, and her husband, and <br />John Mitchell. She thanked the residents for their encouragement. <br />District 4 <br />Councilmember Cook recognized prior problems; however, she believed the Council <br />was ready to go forward as expected by the citizens. She expressed pride in the City <br />of Colton and believed that there were a lot of good things happening in the City. <br />District 3 <br />Councilmember Hutton welcomed the new Mayor and new Council and expressed a <br />wish for a bright future together and for the community. <br />'Cl <br />n � tr 3 1936 <br />
