Travel <br />Apmoval for Attendance to Leaaue of California Cities-- Mayors and Councilmembers <br />Executive Forum <br />CM Cook moved to approve attendance, and travel expense, to the Executive Forum <br />of the League of California Cities in Monterey from July 17 to July 19. Motion was <br />seconded by CM Bennett and carried upon unanimous vote. CM Beltran said that a <br />change in travel plans could possibly cut the expense by $90. <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />CA Biggs announced that City Council would meet in Closed Session pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54957.6 to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie <br />Fernandez Harmon, regarding negotiations with Representatives of the International <br />Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 47, Electric Unit; Colton Police <br />Officers Association (CPOA); and SBPEA for General Unit and <br />Management/Confidential Unit. <br />CA Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54957 regarding Labor Negotiations with unrepresented <br />Executive employees. <br />At 7:15 P.M., meeting was adjourned to Closed Session and at 8:22 P. M., meeting <br />reconvened with all Members present as heretofore. <br />CA Biggs reported that City Council did meet in Closed Session as previously <br />announced and that Council did address Item C with no reportable action. She said <br />that Council did not address Item "E". <br />CITY CLERK' ITEMS: <br />General Municioal Election <br />City Clerk Freeman reported that this was the time to call for election of certain <br />officers of the City, to wit, City Clerk, at large for full-term of four years; City <br />Treasurer, at large, for full-term of four years; and three Councilmembers by Districts, <br />for Districts 3, 5 and 6, for full -terms of four years. He recommended that Council <br />order a General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 1996, to be <br />consolidated with the Statewide General Election. <br />Motion/second by Sanders/Beltran to accept and approve staff recommendation <br />carried upon unanimous vote. <br />4 <br />J U L 0 2 1996 <br />
