Closing of the Sanitation Enterprise Books and Deposition of the $2.8 Million received from <br />Taormina Industries <br />Without objection from Council, Mayor Fulp stated that no further explanation was need as the <br />Agenda Report provided by Finance Director Vega was sufficient. <br />United Way Drive for 1996 <br />Mayor Fulp said he had attended a United Way meeting and was made aware that the City of <br />Colton had not participated for the last two years. He asked for volunteers to chair the drive. <br />Councilmember Cook nominated Mayor Fulp. Mayor Fulp agreed to "Coach" the drive and <br />nominated Assistant City Manager Parrish to Co -Chair. Assistant City Manager Parrish declined <br />the nomination. With consensus of the Council, Mayor Fulp directed City Manager Freeman <br />to find an employee who will volunteer to Co -Chair the United Way Drive. <br />Development Issues of Common Interest to the City of Colton and the City of Riverside <br />Mayor Fulp presented this item for discussion and requested a consensus from Council to <br />approve the recommendation that the City of Colton correspond with the Mayor of Riverside <br />requesting a meeting to include both cities' respective staff. The intent of this meeting would <br />be to discuss and explore viable development issues of common interest to Colton and Riverside <br />which affect the area located at the south end of Colton/Agua Mansa Area. <br />Motion/second, CM Bennett/Mayor Fulp, to approve the recommendation. Unanimous vote. <br />Re -alignment of Agua Mansa Road/Pepper Avenue Project <br />Community Development Director Zamora presented, as requested by Council, a status report <br />on the proposed re -alignment and widening of Agua Mansa Road. He recommended that if <br />Council agreed that an Environmental Impact Report should be prepared, to address any <br />significant impacts and environmental consequences in order to proceed with the project, then <br />it would be appropriate for staff to proceed with Requests for Proposals to perform an <br />Environmental Impact Report. <br />Motion/second, by CM Sanders/Hutton, to approve staff's recommendation to include an <br />Entomologist. Unanimous vote. <br />With a consensus of the Council, Mayor Fulp directed Community Development Director <br />Zamora to provided a time line for the RFP and the cost for overlay maps for the next Council <br />Meeting. <br />5 <br />SEP 17 1996 <br />
