Unanimous vote. <br />RECESS: <br />At 8:09 p.m. Mayor Gaytan declared a recess and reconvened at 8:38 p.m. All members present. <br />Motion/second by CM Sanders/Cook to advance Agenda Item No. 21, regarding Public Hearing for <br />prioritization and ftmding of CDBG projects for the Fiscal Year 1997-98. Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARIN : <br />Mayor Gaytan announced this was the time and place for a hearing to consider the prioritization and <br />funding of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Projects for the Fiscal Year 1997-98. <br />Mayor Gaytan declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Barrera submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections <br />were received. <br />David Zamora, Community Development Director, presented for Council consideration a listing of <br />the 43 CDBG projects eligible for funding consideration and recommended that City Council, after <br />allowing public input, select and prioritize projects to be funded from the City of Colton's Fiscal <br />Year 1997-98 Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Allocation, and adopt Resolution <br />No. R-18-97. <br />Maria Aldama, San Bernardino resident, spoke in support of the CD13G allocation funding for the <br />Colton Public Library - Adult Literacy Program. <br />Lois Ziegler O'Donnell, Executive Director of Children's Fund, Inc., spoke for continued support of <br />the CDBG allocation ftinding for the Children's Fund, Inc. - at -risk children's resource distribution & <br />referral services. <br />Leanne Laugham, Executive Director of Inland Temporary Homes, Inc., spoke for continued support <br />of the CDBG allocation funding for the Inland Temporary Homes, Inc. - homeless shelter services for <br />families. <br />Hilda Garcia, Colton resident and Library Board Trustee, spoke in support of the CDBG allocation <br />funding for the Colton Public Library - computer literacy instruction for seniors. <br />Joan Hunsaker, Department of Aging and Adult Services representative, spoke for continued support <br />of the CDBG allocation funding for the Department of Aging and Adult Services - senior nutrition <br />I program. <br />5 <br />
