Larry Ortega, Executive Director of Community Union, Inc., spoke in support of the CDBG <br />allocation funding for the Community Union, Inc. - youth computer education. <br />Fred Cordova, Colton resident, requested an increase of $10,000 to the CDBG allocation for the <br />Senior Nutrition Program and supported the CDBG allocation funding to the City of Colton <br />Neighborhood Services Department - rehabilitation of Pete Luque Community Center - Phase IL <br />James Curtis, Regional Supervisor for the Department of Aging and Adult Services, spoke for <br />continued support of the CDBG allocation ftinding for the Department of Aging and Adult Services - <br />senior nutrition program. <br />Steve Anderson, Colton resident, supported the Seniors Program, Luque Center Rehabilitation, Inland <br />Temporary Homes, and requested a fund allocation for residents of Rancho Mediten-rania. He asked <br />that no funding be allocated to Los Padrinos. <br />David Zamora, Community Development Director explained that of the total allocation of $368,000 <br />there was a restriction of 15% for public service, approximately $55,200. Director Zamora requested <br />that the items listed for allocation to the Community Development - Code Enforcement be seriously <br />considered for approval. <br />Rosemary Colunga, Colton resident spoke in support of the CDBG allocation funding to the City of <br />Colton Neighborhood Services Department - rehabilitation of Pete Luque Community Center - Phase <br />IL <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Sandoval to close the Public Hearing. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Andres Soto, Principal Planner, informed that the City allocation was $368,000 from which $5,000 <br />was being returned to CM Sanders which he loaned to the Steelworkers Foundation, leaving a <br />balance of $363,000. He stated there were additional funds which were reprogrammed from another <br />project that was completed in the amount of $6,583 resulting in the total sum of $369,583 available to <br />allocate to the projects. He noted that this total did not include about $15,766 that CM Sanders had in <br />his contingency account. <br />Discussion commenced regarding the funding allocations before Council, prioritization of the <br />programs and determination of the appropriate allocation for each proponent. <br />Motion/second by, CM Sandoval/Cook to approve the following programs and allocations: <br />• Steelworkers Oldtimers Foundation - $10,000 <br />• Greater SB Area Special Olympics - $770 <br />• Children's Fund Inc - $51000 <br />• Department of Aging and Adult Services - $ 10,000 <br />• Greater SB Area Special Olympics - $ 1,000 <br />ri <br />
