She wondered how that was so as she recalled having been present
when Council adopted the Code. She was told that someone changed the Code
and that it would have to be re -written. She said there was a motor home on
the front lawn at Valencia and Olive; with a similar situation at Olive and Penn.
. At Valley and Pennsylvania, she said there was one dumpster, contained in a
cubicle, for all of those little businesses, which was full on Friday, overflowing
on Saturday and by Sunday night the cube was packed' and overflowing into
the alley. She reported that on 10th and F Streets, there is still parking on the
sidewalk.
Traffic
Having requested it since 1983, Ms. Jean Hart showed pictures of road
improvements near her home. Now that the roads are improved, she said
individuals are speeding past the school. Mayor Gaytan directed the matter to
the City Manager for referral to the Traffic Committee. She recalled prior
monetary contributions from CM Sanders and CM Beltran to the Oldtimers
Foundation, who assist senior citizens with home maintenance free of charge.
Rich Dauer Park
Mr. John Longfield showed pictures of a hole that had been made in the middle
of the Rich Dauer park by the landscape maintenance and the damage to the
Tights under the gazebo, by the same group. He commented on waiver of fees
for the youth groups and asked: that all of Colton's youth be subsidized,
including those who participate in Grand Terrace. He thanked Chief Lunsford
for a job well done.
Council Mins February 03, 1998 4
