4—, <br />Field Fees <br />Mr. John Mitchell, Citizen of Colton, defended his recent use of the word <br />"ignorance" He quoted the Mayor's comment regarding the charge to the City <br />for its use of the stadium and challenged its veracity. <br />Ken Hubbs Memorial Little League Treasurer Art Ramos responded to Mr. <br />Mitchell's comments and pointed out that the issue was, not about them but <br />about the children. He said the organization was not out for a "freebie." He <br />pointed out there was a trade-off in working with the City, such as doing a <br />fund-raisers to purchase new equipment to enhance the field. Currently, the <br />target is to replace a 25 -year old scoreboard. <br />Colton Youth Soccer <br />Mike Correra, Head Coach of the Colton Youth Soccer, announced the 20th <br />soccer season sign-up would commence February 11th, from 5-7 P. M. the 14th <br />from 9:30 A. M. to 12:00 P. M.; the 18th, from 5-7 P. M., and the 21st and 28th <br />from 9:00 A. M. to 12:00 P. M., at Colton Middle School. The season will start <br />in March and run through the end of May. He voiced concern about the <br />negative attitude of the Parks & Recreation Commission. He encouraged <br />support for the children. <br />The Ravine <br />Pam Panza commented on the ravine property near her home and the <br />unbearable noise, trash and smell caused by the motor -cross bikes. She <br />reported that the area was being graded as a track for the bikes. The condition <br />has become aggravated and unbearable. As requested by CM Bennett and <br />after discussion, the matter was referred to CM Gaicia, Interim City' Attorney <br />Carvalho and the Code Enforcement Staff. Ms. Panza was invited to leave her <br />number with the City Manager. <br />Variety <br />Rev. Steve Anderson commented on San Bernardino Mayoral Candidate Valles' <br />apparent victory; the blight in District 3, an abandoned house at the comer of <br />Healing Water Lane and Orange Grove; selection of permanent Fire Chief; <br />approval of the Fire contract with constant manning; filling the Police Chief <br />position; the issue of one person asset management at Rancho Mediterrania <br />and concluded that Taormina was not in compliance with its contract. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL <br />AGENCY REPORTS, INFORMATION` SESSION: <br />San Bernardino Airport <br />Mayor Gaytan announced that the San Bernardino airport would begin flights <br />with Casino Air and referred to a brochure offering a room for the evening and <br />round-trip air fare at $39.
