(10) Personnel/Police - Ratified employee appointment to the full-time position of Police Sergeant. <br />(11) Personnel/Police - Ratified employee appointment to the part-time position of Animal Control <br />Officer. <br />(12) Personnel/Police - Authorized recruitment and appointment of two COPS grant funded Police <br />Officers. <br />(13) Wastewater - Waived full reading and passed second reading of Ordinance amending Chapter <br />13.08 of the Colton Municipal Code, regulating the discharge of wastes into the sewerage <br />system of the City of Colton and repealing Ordinance 0-04-94, ORDINANCE NO. 0-03-98. <br />(14) C ew - Waived full reading and passed second reading of Ordinance amending Chapter 9.32 <br />and deleting Chapter 9.36 of the Colton Municipal Code concerning juvenile Curfew and <br />daytime loitering regulations, ORDINANCE NO. 04)4-98. <br />(15) Personnel/Public Works - Established and approved the filling of a part-time temporary <br />position of Engineering Technician II for the Public Works Department, and exception to <br />Resolution No. 2240, Rule XIII, Section 5. <br />(16) Agreement - Approved the Settlement Agreement with Allan B. Steward, RESOLUTION <br />NO. R-1498. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/CM Bennett, second/CM Cook, to approve the Consent Calendar, except <br />for Item 7, carried with CM Sanders abstaining on Item 2 as he was absent from the subject meeting. <br />Item 7: Bid: <br />To inquiry, Utility Director Clarke responded that the City reported on a quarterly basis to the <br />Regional Quality Board, that the Cease & Desist Order was still in effect but that the City was in <br />compliance with the schedule. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/CM Sanders, second/CM Cook, to re -affirm the award bid to Krieger & <br />Stewart in the amount of $700,000 for Construction Management carred with CM Hutton voting <br />"No" and CM Grimsby abstaining. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Boards and Commissions <br />CM Hutton nominated Ramon Hernandez for appointment to the Planning Commission in place <br />of John Gomez, a Marine on active duty. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/CM Bennett, second/CM Cook, to ratify said appointment carried <br />with no opposition. <br />Council Mins February 17, 1998 5 <br />
