INFORMATIONAL: <br />CM Cook commented on the upcoming League of California Cities, Policy Committee Meetings <br />for August 26 and 27, 1999. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Bennett/DeLaRosa to pull all items forward except for <br />Item 17 which was pulled for further review from the State and except for Item 21 which was <br />continued to September 14, 1999. Motion carried with no opposition thereto. <br />MOTION/VOTE: CM Chastain, seconded by CM Bennett, moved to approve the Consent <br />Calendar, except for Items 17 and 21, and the motion carried with no opposition. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />(3) Minutes - Approved Minutes for the Regular Meeting held July 20, 1999, on file in the <br />Office of the City Clerk. <br />(4) Warrants - Approved Payroll Warrants #198377 to #198776, dated 08/10/99, totaling <br />$472,158.46; Payable Warrants #27133 to #27314, dated 07/29/99, totaling $339,927.93, <br />on file in the Finance Department. <br />-- (5) Claims - Denied claims against the City submitted by Diane Bell, Steven Reeve and Martin <br />Hess. <br />(6) Exemption - West Valley Specific Plan - Authorized granting an exemption to the West <br />Valley Specific Plan non -conforming use provision for 1849 West Valley Boulevard. <br />(7) Contract - Approved a contract with Tanner Recognition Company for the Employee <br />Service Award Program with a fiscal impact of $15,000. <br />(8) Amendment of Agreement - Approved the Amendment of Agreement with San Bernardino <br />Public Employees Association (SBPEA) and approved and adopted a salary range for the <br />part-time Police Stenographer position, increasing the rate of pay, RESOLUTION NOS. <br />R-79-99 and R-80-99. <br />(9) Award of Contract - Approved an award of contract for the construction of the Randall <br />Avenue Storm Drain Project to C. P. Construction in the amount of $372,235. Granted <br />approval of the total project estimated cost to include a 10% contingency, engineering, <br />administration and inspection of $475,919. <br />(10) Travel over $1.000 - Granted approval for the Electrical Engineering Manager to travel to <br />Houston, Texas, on September 27, 1999, to attend a Princeton Energy Programme Seminar. <br />(11) Travel over $1.000 - Granted approval for the Utilities Revenue Manager and Assistant <br />Finance Director to travel to San Antonio, Texas, on September 26-29, 1999, to attend the <br />American Public Power Association's Annual Business and Financial Workshop. <br />City Council Mins Aug 17, 1999 4 <br />
