The following individuals voiced community concerns: Mel Albiso, John Longfield and Jean <br />Ferrante. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: COMMENTS, INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY <br />REPORTS, INFORMATION SESSION: <br />ACTION ITEM <br />Mayor's Leave <br />Item pulled by Mayor Gaytan. <br />INFORMATION <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />It was announced that the Utilities Commission Update would be rescheduled. <br />COMMENTS <br />District 1 - CM Sanders stated that the City needed to post a "No Truck Traffic" sign, especially <br />18 -wheelers, on Meridian, because it is utilized as a thoroughfare. <br />District 2- CM DeLaRosa requested a report on the Public Works' projects for the sidewalks and <br />handicap approaches. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain expressed appreciation for the CDBG program and the ongoing curbs <br />and gutters on Pennsylvania. <br />District 5 - CM Bennett reported there were two meetings of the Citizens Advisory Committee <br />who gave a list of items to the City. At their next meeting they will look at projected costs and <br />then they will give directions. CM Bennett said the remark stating she cost the City $20,000 was <br />totally erroneous. <br />At Large - Mayor Gaytan noted that for balance of July he would not be holding office hours in <br />the City but could be reached by pager or through the City Manager's Office. He expressed <br />appreciation to the community for the "get well" wishes. He referred to the City's programs, <br />available through the Redevelopment Agency, to help new, small businesses develop business <br />plans and obtain necessary financing for business enhancement and purpose. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />MOTION/VOTE: After brief discussion, CM Sanders, seconded by Mayor Gaytan, moved to <br />advance the balance of the agenda, including Items No. 17, EXCEPT Nos. 18 and 19 which were <br />pulled, carried with no objection the motion. <br />City Council Mins Jul}20, 1999 4 <br />
