The following citizens addressed community concerns: Dick Mosher and John Romero. Public <br />Works Director Hutton, City Manager Garcia and Police Captain Heusterberg answered questions <br />regarding truck traffic on Rancho Avenue. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Comments, Inter -Governmental Agency reports, <br />Information Session and Action Items: <br />Comments: <br />District 1 - CM Sanders reported on a favorable agreement between a new tenant and SBIAA in <br />that the City may not have to contribute any more funds to sustain the airport. He inquired about <br />the striping at Randall and Pepper, the curb and gutter and stoplight. City staff responded. <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa thanked Tom Clarke and crew who responded to faulty lighting on <br />Alston. He spoke about his meeting with School District staff regarding improvements on the <br />McKinley field. <br />District 3 - CM Chastain asked Staff to investigate citizen complaints about trucks using 12' <br />Street behind Plaza Las Glorias and the signalization east and west at Valley Boulevard. She <br />reported on the East Valley Coalition meeting where a potential Measure I is expected and <br />announced the call for projects. She invited public input. She reported on the successful meeting <br />hosted by the City of Colton for the Inland Chapter of the California League of Cities. <br />District 4 - CM Cook reported on the Employees Relations Policy Committee of the League of <br />California Cities; the Wyatt Earp event hosted by the City Library; Wilson Elementary School's <br />annual Peacemakers parade and the murals, done in the 1970's, at Wilson School. <br />District 6 - CM Grimsby related his visually handicapped son's recent experience at the Fire <br />Department and the Police Department and applauded City Staff for their help. He thanked <br />Public Works Director and his crew for the "Children at Play" signs at Rancho Med. He <br />reported on an agreement with Grand Terrace for 50% of the construction fee for the turnout <br />expected around May or June. <br />District 5 - Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett submitted a complaint by Mr. Magyar on Smallwood <br />and problems with the homeowner's association and with animal control. She spoke about a <br />complaint regarding the train whistle. She thanked the City employees for saving the palm tree <br />and repairing the fourth sign at Reche Canyon. <br />INFORMATION ITEM: <br />SBAG's memorandum, dated January 12, 2000, regarding SCAG District 6 Regional Council <br />Representative (election) was submitted. <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Travel Exceeding $1.000 <br />City Council Mins Feb 1, 2000 3 <br />
