Community Development Director Zamora surrunarized his agenda report of February 28, 2000 <br />regarding the prioritization and funding of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />projects for fiscal year 2000-01. <br />The following persons spoke on behalf of their organizations: Trajan Green (Shopping 4 <br />Seniors); Joan Hunsaker (SB Co. Meals on Wheels); Katie Bodily (Partnerships with Industry); <br />Deborah Davis (Legal Aid of San Bernardino); Darrell Cyphers (Inland Temporary Homes); <br />Gerald Butler (Camp Fire Boys and Girls Club); William Vasquez (Oldtimers Foundation); and, <br />Maureen Moncada and Brunie Lee (Alzheimer's Assoc. of San Bernardino/Riverside Counties). <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/DeLaRosa to terminate the public hearing <br />carried upon unanimous vote. <br />Discussion followed on unspecified/contingency account in the amount of $3,763. Principal <br />Planner Soto submitted a correction to Item 4 of the recommended projects list: #26195 identified <br />Domestic Violence Shelter Service, a non-profit corporation. He stated that the <br />unspecified/contingency account could be used for any construction -type activity, other than a <br />public service project. He suggested that Council could allocate the contingency account to a <br />public service project(s) with the understanding that City Staff would request, from County of San <br />Bernardino Supervisor Jerry Eaves, a portion of his 15 % contingency fund. <br />The following organizations and amounts were recommended: Log No. 26137, Alzheimer's <br />Foundation, $1,000; #26197, Legal Aid Society, $1,000; and, #26100, Inland Temporary Homes, <br />$1,763. <br />Motion/second by CM Sanders/Cook to approve and adopt RESOLUTION NO. R-12-00, <br />prioritizing the types of projects to be funded by Community Development Block Grant Funds for <br />the fiscal year 2000-2001 and, further, to approve attachment "B" to include the modification that <br />the contingency amount will be allocated as follows: $1,000 to Alzheimer's Foundation, $1,000 <br />to Legal Aid Society and $1,763 to Inland Temporary Homes. Motion carried upon unanimous <br />vote. <br />Appeal -La Mesa RV <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider an appeal by La Mesa RV from the Planning <br />Commission's decision to deny File Index Number DC -69-99 (La Mesa RV), a request for design <br />review and a conditional use permit to establish a recreational vehicle center in a PC (Planned <br />Community) Zone. <br />At 8:16 P. M., CM Sanders removed himself from his place at the dais. <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett declared the Public Hearing "Open." <br />Acting City Clerk Delgado submitted the Affidavit of Publication and declared that she did not <br />receive any protests or objections <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett declared that the matter was continued to March 21, 2000. <br />City Council Mins Mar 7, 2000 3 <br />
