The following residents voiced community concerns: Lee Taylor and Jimmy Babacos. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Inter -Governmental Agency reports, Information Session <br />and Action Items: <br />INFORMATION SESSION <br />District 1 - CM Sanders announced the dedication of the George E. Brown, Jr. Park on June 2, <br />2000 at 11:00 A. M. <br />District 2 - CM DeLaRosa announced a Town Hall Meeting on June 8, 2000, at 6:00 P. M., at <br />the Colton Middle School. He thanked Electric Department and City Manager's Office for the <br />survey/plan to add eight street lights in District 2. He announced a meeting, with the School <br />District Superintendent, regarding amenities for McKinley School. He thanked CM Grimsby for <br />the $3,000 from his budget allocation for the Rancho Avenue crosswalk. He asked for <br />installation of an adapter for the scoreboard to be used by the Colton Pony League <br />District 3 - CM Chastain reported on a recent Town Hall Meeting. She thanked staff for removal <br />of the Ken Hubbs field fence. She asked Staff to investigate ownership of the adjacent right-of- <br />way that might be extended for use by the Ken Hubbs League. She called for weed abatement at <br />the corner of Shasta and Mt. Vernon. She asked for an update on Sergeant Coe's investigation of <br />citizen complaints about trucks using residential streets to get to Plaza Las Glorias. <br />District 4 - CM Cook reported on Senator Baca's Education Summit that featured education <br />technology into the future. She spoke about the 44 new, low floor OmniTrans buses. She spoke <br />about the Giant R. V. grand opening. She reported on the Second Annual Hearts of Our Cities <br />Gala event and the soon to be announced Senior Walk-a-Thon. <br />District 5 - Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett asked whether the County or the City had posted two <br />"35 miles" signs on Prado Lane and asked why they were posted since it was a residential area. <br />City Manager Garcia said he would investigate the matter. <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br />None. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />MOTION: Motion made by CM Cook, seconded by CM Sanders, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar with the caveat to Item 8 that Staff fast track the restroom issue for all parks and report <br />to City Council as to what fast tracking would mean. <br />Item 13 - Utility Director Clarke answered questions on the Missing Links Program for District <br />2. <br />VOTE: On the main motion, the vote was unanimous. <br />City Council Mins May 16, 2000 3 <br />
