MOTION: Motion/second by CM Grimsby/Sanders to appoint with the application period to be closed by next Thursday, 11/30/00. Further, with approval of the maker/second, the primary motion was amended to include the following directions as requested by CM Cook: * Instruct the City Clerk to prepare applications for the filling of the vacant City Council Seat in District 4. * Instruct the City Clerk to publish and post notice of the availability of applications and the filing deadline of November 30"'. * Instruct the City Clerk to request applicants to submit a resume and prepare a five minute presentation for the interviews to be held on December 71''. * Instruct the City Clerk to agendize a report to the Council at the December 5' meeting and adjourn the item to December 7'' for interviews and the appointment to fill the vacancy. City Manager Garcia offered to prepare a binder for each Member to include a list of suggested questions, for uniform and equitable application, along with a rating sheet. He indicated the binder would be delivered ahead of the December 7' meeting.
