Proclamation - Make a Difference Day <br />CM Ramos presented a Proclamation to Susan Pantane, Coordinator for the County of San <br />Bernardino Make a Difference Day for all of their volunteer time and efforts in the collection of <br />donations. <br />Recognition - Lupe Aldama, A-1 Barber Shop <br />CM DeLaRosa presented a Proclamation to Lupe Aldama, Owner of A-1 Barber Shop as a <br />testimony of his dedication to his family, community, contributions to the community and his <br />compassion for living life as a hard working business man, devoted family man and deeply <br />caring member of the community. <br />Proclamation - Red Ribbon Week - 10/22 — 10/31/02 <br />CM Chastain presented a Proclamation to Captain Joe McCann in honor of Red Ribbon Week. <br />Presentation - Community Services Award to the City from the VFW <br />National Headquarters <br />CM Hernandez introduced Mike Shwartz who on behalf of Al Shwartz from the Veterans of <br />Foreign Wars presented the City of Colton with the 2002 National Outstanding Community <br />Service Award. Mayor Bennett accepted the award on behalf of the City. <br />Presentation - Government Finance Officers Association — Certificate of <br />Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting <br />Mayor Bennett presented a Certificate Achievement Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting <br />by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada to Finance <br />Director Dilu DeAlwis. <br />PUBLIC HEARING: <br />(1) Building Code <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider adopting by reference and making certain <br />Amendments to the 2001 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, which <br />incorporates the California Building Code, the California Mechanical Code, the California <br />Plumbing CODEP and the California Electrical Code and adopting other Model Codes. <br />Mayor Bennett declared the Public Hearing "Open". <br />City Clerk Barrera said the Affidavit of Publication calling the Public Hearing was on file in the <br />City Clerk's Office and stated that no protests or objections were received. <br />City Attorney Dean Derleth requested that due to publication requirements, the Public Hearing <br />regarding the Uniform Fire Code be moved to the November 5, 2002 Regular Meeting and to <br />carry on with the Public Hearing for the remaining codes. <br />0) <br />
