SECTION TWO: Changes in Codes. The following changes are made to the Codes adopted herein: (A) "Uniform Building Code" and "Uniform Building Code Appendix" Chapters 7, 11, 32, 35, 38, 49, 55, 57 and 70, 1982 Edition. (1) The 1982 "Uniform Building Code" Section 1704 shall be amended as follows: (a) Any person, firm, or corporation who erects, con- structs or relocates any building or structure in the City of Colton shall provide said building or structure with a roof covering that meets a minimum of Underwriters Laboratories Incorporation Certification of Class "C" roof- ing, tested by requirements in Underwriters Laboratories Standard 790 (Fest Method of Fire Resistance of Roof Covering Materials).. (b) Any person, firm, or corporation performing any alterations, repairs, improvements, or additions to any building or structure in the City of Colton involving the removal, repair, replacement or installa- tion of roofing materials on more than 40% of the roof of said structure or building within any twelve-month period shall install a roof covering as provided in paragraph (a) of this section. (c) Treated wood shingles and/or shakes shall comply with the 1982 Uniform Building Code Standard 32-7. (d) All reroofing or repairs of existing buildings or structures will be performed in the manner, and with materials meeting the requirements of the 1979 Uniform Building Code Appendix Chapter 32. (e) During the process of reroofing or repairs involving 40% or more of an existing roof, a spark arrester shall be installed upon any chimney on the building or structure prior to any final inspection on the reroof, in accordance with the Colton Municipal Code.
