Connections shall
be fully detailed on plans including the sizes and lengths of weld and
the sizes, spacings and edge distances of bolt. Structural analysis
shall justify the structural adequacy of each structural element or frame
with the design data, inputs and outputs incorporated. The types and
grades of materials shall be fully specified."
B. Section 1603.3.4 is expanded to include the following as its second
paragraph:
"Due consideration shall be given to the design or analysis of shear
walls, moment frames or other lateral -force -resisting systems that the
available counterweight or other resistive device is adequate to resist
the maximum uplift and total downthrust."
C. Of Section 1615, the wind stagnation pressure qs is adopted as equal
to 12.6 pounds per square foot at 70 mph on buildings and 25.6
pounds per square foot at 100 mph on pole and sign structures as set
forth in Table No. 16-F.
D. Section 1617 is amended to continue with the following:
"Exposure C is adopted for determination of the combined Height,
Exposure and Gust Factor Coefficient Ce."
E. Section 1627.2 is amended to continue with the following as its
addendum:
"The City is located within the Seismic Zone 4."
F. Section 1805 is expanded to include the following as its second
paragraph:
"The Building Official may accept an allowable foundation pressure of
1,000 pounds per square foot and an allowable lateral pressure of 100
pounds per square foot for engineered residential projects (other than
tract homes), and for minor structural works (cost not exceeding 30% of
the existing structure valuation) for nonresidential tenant
3
